A few weeks ago I shared my favorite neutral area rugs from Rugs USA, and now I’m back with some of my favorite colorful options for when a neutral just won’t do. I love using colorful rugs in living spaces where a lot of the furniture is neutral – it’s just so warm and fun. Bonus benefit – it’s easier to hide dirt and stains in high traffic areas.
Again worth noting is the Rugs USA site experience – you can sort easily by what style, size or color family you’re looking for. You can also “see it in your space” by uploading a photo of your room. While it’s not perfect… it really helps to visualize what the room and furniture will look like with the rug you’ve chosen.
So without further ado – here are a few of my favorite colorful area rugs from Rugs USA:
Blue Polaris Medallion Area Rug
No shock here… this is the rug in my bachelorette pad living room! While not particularly cushy, its held up really well. I love how you can’t see anything in it if its dirty. It has a little more yellow than shows up in the pics on the site – but I’m still obsessed a year and a half later.
Blue Faded Star Petal Emblem Area Rug
This was the runner up to what I ended up choosing for my living room. I ended up wanting something a little less true blue but I still think it would have worked so well. I love the faded and distressed look in parts of it and how it’s just a hint moody while still being bright.
Pink Kids Bohemian Diamond Trellis Shag Area Rug
Obsessed with this one, especially for a girl’s room. We used it in Janet and Justin’s place and my friend Andi has it in her girls’ room, too. It’s a super cushy shag rug, perfect for playing on the ground with little ones.
Multi Vibrant Moroccan Diamond Shag Area Rug
Still trying to convince someone to get this shag rug – I think it’s so beautiful! I also think it would be perfect for a girl’s room, but could see it in a vibrant living room, too.
Multi Clouded Impressionism Rug
If you’re looking for color in a bit more of a modern and abstract way, this clouded impressionism rug fits the bill. I love how you can rotate this style and get a whole new look in the room.
A little more structured than the other rugs, with sharp lines. I could see this one being really beautiful in a dining room or bigger entryway.
Yet another one I considered for my living room – I love the colors and patterns here.
