Sarah came to me with one of my favorite types of projects: “I have this weird space and I don’t know what to do with it. It’s become a dumping ground.”
First we talked through her needs for the space – did she need more storage, and what did she need the storage for? Then she walked me through the rest of the space to make sure I understood where this nook sat in the scheme of things.
Ultimately Sarah was looking for a place to hang her hand bag and have some extra food storage, but was willing to move the shoes into the front closet to make a better here in the nook.

Sarah was game for anything, which was so fun. We ended up creating a little art nook, complete with battery operated spotlight, to really make the nook stand out. Command hooks on the left made it easy for her to hang her tote bag, and the just-the-right height fake plant added some greenery without any of the upkeep.
Below are two hyacinth baskets for extra storage – whether its extra pantry items or hats and gloves in the winter.
