Friends of mine from my time in California reached out about getting help choosing furniture for their first home. While they lived in an apartment for many years and had some furniture, they wanted to really create a home with a sense of style and cohesion. They knew what they liked, but wanted to make sure it all went together.

We worked on three different options for their dining room, taking inspiration from their home’s staging photos. The dining room is off the kitchen and the living room, so they wanted the backs of the chairs to be interesting and beautiful.

Option 1: Balanced Texture

This one is my clear favorite – I love the balance of texture and color to pull the room together.
