I moved into my current apartment less than a year ago, my first apartment completely on my own. I wanted the place to feel a mix between mid-century and bohemian, with clean lines and a bit of color.

While I had a few things (the blue chairs, the side table and lamp) I had to furnish the majority of this space from scratch.

First things first: the couch. I searched high and low for a couch that I felt good about, and ended up buying the Burrow Nomad couch. The great thing about this couch is that it comes completely apart, making it really easy to move when I move out. It was super easy to get upstairs and put together, which is extremely important in a Somerville third story walk up. While I love the concept of this couch, after living with it for a year, I would still recommend it, but in a different color. The light grey is a mix of white and black thread, giving it a sort of staticky lined look that has come to annoy me. While the average person doesn’t notice it at all, it tends to drive me bonkers.

The Mitus Touch Bachelorette Pad Living Room

This room is my main living area and also doubles as a small dining place. I ended up buying the drop-fold Jules table from West Elm after playing around with a few sizes. It’s on the bigger size for the space, but could comfortably fit 4 people if I was hosting people for dinner.

I bought this blue coffee table and my media console MONTHS before I moved into this apartment – I had to store them under my bed >_<. I was nervous the items would sell out at Target and never come back.
